3. Re: Drinking water in Prague. 15 years ago. Save. Ive been living in Prague (actually a village nearby) and I drink tap water all the time. Many Czechs prefer to drink mineral water because they dont like too much the taste of the tap water. Otherwsie it is as safe as in any other european city.

What to Drink. The Czech Republic is a beer country, and in Prague, there is a large number of beer pubs you can choose from. It is not that long time ago when beer was cheaper than water, but it is not possible anymore according to the law - but still, beer is much cheaper in the Czech Republic than abroad.
Georgians will say that the water is safe to drink, because for Georgians, it IS safe to drink. They have been raised on their water and the bacteria in Georgians' stomachs has balanced itself, with their diet, to have minimal issues when drinking the water.
